I genuinely enjoy this game, and the only thing missing is the sprites. If it had sprites, I would see myself playing this game every day.

I think you have some great starts to the by day and by night activities of the Boba assassin. Both areas play well, have clear onscreen directions, and the levels seem to work just fine. There is some lag when you play the version on Itch. Don't just play test in the editor. Some other friction is that the text in the UI is kinda small and hard to read. You could make it bigger, or experiment with contrasting colors from the color wheel like we looked at in class today. Contrasting colors might make it easier to read and maybe no font size changes are needed. You have to try it out, play test, and decide what works best.

Both stages of the game are pretty fun, serving drinks at a rapid pace and serving bullets at an equally rapid pace.

A couple of friction points: firing tapioca bullets and flamethrower fire lags the game for a couple seconds every time you fire. Test this from the itch.io page (not from the editor). My guess is that you are loading a large resource (such as a bullet + uncompressed sound file) using the "load()" function over and over again, rather than preloading the resource using the "preload()" function once when the scene is loaded. https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/tutorials/best_practices/logic_preference...

Like I've said on many of these itch pages, make sure you make it clear what the title of your game is vs. the name of your studio is.

studio name: LJJ Studio

game name: Boba & Blades

Make sure the name of your game is the title of the page.

Also bro you are trolling with that main-menu-looking screen as your header image.

I like how you can get the items and play with them. A friction in the game is that there isn't a lot to do and the character moves a little slow. Something to improve is adding more task to do and more information about the game

I absolutely love the mechanics of the game and the UI. One friction i have is the fact that i can not pull anything out from my inventory. One thing you can add to your itch page is a description of controls and lore

I love the game concept, especially the graphic the inputs, and the guns especially the flamethrower I can see a really great outcome. However several bugs occurred:

Bugs:

  • When I hold one of the buttons on the homepage, the insertion point (The "|"<HoverSelect>) stays there when I hold for 1 < x in seconds.
  • Ingredients on the kitchen, I am unsure if it is part of the game but let's say Customer 1 has a order of Black Tea + Sugar. When I only serve Black Tea then it accepted without me adding the sugar. It only happens time to time but sometimes it works.
  • I placed the SFX Sound = 0 and I still hear the SFX.
  • I also noticed the 27/57 on top of the Blue Square and the Yellow Square I am unsure if it is part of the game, because Purple Square has a exclamation mark not a 27/57.

Web Design:

  • Lowkey the banner of the itch.io page tricked me. I love it! (Opinion)
  • Add controllers, and description of the game.

The UI is well-designed and clearly shows the mission and what items can be purchased. However, the missions become repetitive, and no new or more challenging tasks are introduced. In addition, the overall goal of the game is not clear, so players may feel unsure about what to do next and end up repeating the same actions.

To create a stronger sense of achievement, you could introduce new mission types, increased difficulty, and clearer progression goals to keep players engaged and motivated. To better capture players’ attention, you should also add the description of your game on the itch page.

A strength of this game is the clean User Interface, and it's a game that's generally easy to pick up the serving aspect of the game. A point of friction I would say, is that I didn't understand the purpose of the pistol/weapons. A thing you can improve on your Itch page would be adding a game description that includes some story element and a detailed description of the objective of the game.

This game has a great idea, combining bubble tea and shooting games into one, and both gameplay elements run very smoothly. I think the character models could be improved, which might make the overall look even better. Also, adding a background story to the item page to explain its origin could be helpful.

The model for the weapon is cool but i don’t see any goal in this game because you just do mission and serve and thats it, i think you can improve your itch page by adding description about the game.

A strength this game has it there are a lot of things to do and weapons that shoot and do different things. A friction of the game is there isn't that many sprites and it's all basic building blocks. An improvement for the page is make it a little more visually appealing

A strength of this game is that there are two parts to play this game, making the boba and fighting. It's very cool. Some friction is that the font size could be bigger because it's a little hard to see, but that might be because I can't full screen. You should and some backstory on how we got here to the description on the itch page

I like how there was actually a game you could play to earn money. One friction  I encounter  will be the font size is kind of small.  Some improvement on the itch page could be add a description.

The game UI is very comforting I like how the interactions are also visible and layout well. There is one thing I'm struggling as a new player is knowing what to do and what the main objective is. One you should really improve on the page is adding a description in the lore and what are the main objective and controls maybe for the new players and the thumb nail kinda fooled me where I thought the start button was real and i just realize I have to scroll down and there was a real play button. Overall very good UI and layout I like to see this improve.

the game has a good concept. But the game the map could be more detailed. to improve the itch could probably add different upgrades to the boba shop to improve the rate of costumers.

- This game concept is fun, you get to serve customers and shoot people
- There is simply not enough gaming content, i want more
- Could add more gameplay images, a short description about the game and movement controls

This one is good I like that you have contracts to help you out.  It would be good to have more options to give to the customers. you'r itch page could have more directions.

The game have the fighting and operation is cool and also the attack it is good I feel can add some better background and object.

It reminded me of Roblox , feel like a different map option would be good and a way to improve your itch page is to add a storyline and directions

One strength so far is the idea of contracts and having cosmetics you can buy with money from contracts. It seems really good, I think just adding more contracts would be good. To update your itch page you should add a brief description of the game.

The game style makes me feel like some game in roblox. you could try rework on the character model so the character don't look like too simple, and try ading imformations, control list, objective in game.

Student hongliang: Very nice game to play, the boba character image so cute and play into game so different, like hard to think is gun game, very cool game.

i like the boba game and the idea of fight with boba but i wish the items on the game bigger and more levels to fighting with boba and making the player items in the game.

Ui is very complete a issue i have is the start game button on the top of the itch page. I kept pressing it thinking the game already loaded.  would be nice to have sprites on it when you have time but the animations and different types of weapons for now do work other than flamethrower. also no instructions on keys to play on itch page.

I like the game mechanic as while as the UI is very smooth making it easier to play the game. You could add a discripation to the game and making the game full screen.

Very nice UI, the mechanics arent bad very good but the mission/contracts are a very nice touch. But the map still stays the same with every mission so maybe change it up.

i like the shop and the contract system and the guns. could add different maps to the contract levels.

i like the mechanics of the game it seems well developed and the movement is very smooth

Student Feedback: Personally, I enjoy fast paced games such as these where the player has to fight against time. What I like about this game is it's uniqueness of combining weapons and boba. The UI looks great as well considering the stage of development. There is a bug I'd like to see fixed: regardless of the selected ingredient, you can press serve and still receive money. I can have nothing selected and it'll still give me money. Otherwise, the is still game is awesome.

The UI and gameplay are great. But in day one, some customers ask for honey despite not having honey unlocked yet. I think that the map could be improved a bit. the boba serving area is a bit far from the spawn point and the shop and contract positions are a bit awkward.

I enjoy viewing the title screen and the mechanic of the game is well-done. There are a variety of weapons and it's fun to see the different in animations and how it interacts with the enemy. Because there are no description on the Itch page, I don't know what the main objective of the game is. I would also enjoy better art for the characters.

The UI is super nice and smooth which makes it easy to play and work around. Also cool that you're able to make boba and do side missions of being an assassin. Some of the weapons are bugged like the pistol and the knife, but the flamethrower and the tapioca launcher work well. I suggest adding a written story for the game, something like you're in poverty and your full time job is working at a boba store while your side hustle is being an assassin trying to get out of poverty.

great ui and very good inventory system, something you could so is change up the map, I really liked the shop too and out of all the games on this list you probably have the best movement controls.
